THE CIRCLE THAT NEVER ENDS: A 10 MINUTE DREAM JOURNAL EXERCISE

Posted in DREAM JOURNAL EXERCISES, DREAM WORKSHOPS on September 27, 2010 by dreamingarts
Our nocturnal narratives whirl about as if we were revolving disks in a relentlessly moving machine. We circumnavigate around an orbit of adventures where we spiral in and out of control. We often find ourselves striving and struggling with unresolved repetition. Recurring dream images haunt us. Themes repeat and evolve. Familiar figures shift as they chase us or dance with us.

YOUR MISSION SHOULD YOU CHOOSE TO ACCEPT IT:

Create a circular model of your dream. Rearrange your dream images within the circumference of a globe, a ring, a wreath, a sphere, a halo or a vortex. When you shift your point of view, notice how new patterns and variations emerge.

Dreams are like hundreds of forms
all pointing to the inner center.

RETURN / TESHUVAH IN HONOR OF ROSH HASHANA

The ten days from Rosh Hashanah to Yom Kippur celebrate the Jewish New Year. This is a time of self-examination as we reflect on the year past. We look toward Yo Harat Olam – the birthday of the world in which we celebrate the joyous remembrance of creation and our annual opportunity for re-creation. This period is referred to as the ten days of Teshuvah.

Teshuvah means return. It is a time to reflect on our shortcomings, a time to resolve to make changes, a time to rediscover our true selves and to contact our divine potential.

YOUR MISSION SHOULD YOU CHOOSE TO ACCEPT IT…

NIGHT OF POWER: A 10 MINUTE DREAM JOURNAL EXERCISE

Laitat al-Qadr means “Night of Power”. On this night, the Angel Gabriel came to the Prophet Muhammad with the Qu’ran; The Divine Revelation. The Qu’ran is Peace by itself. It shows the path of Eternal Bliss to all forever. During this night the Angels and the Heavenly Spirit descend. Their nearness to earth gives a spiritual luster to the hearts and souls of believers. This is one of the holiest and most blessed nights of Ramadan. On this night, the gates of treasure open. As a result of these immense heavenly blessings, those who pass this night in prayer experience an unimaginable ecstasy, rapture and delight. The Prophet described this night as serene, tranquil, peaceful and filled with Power.

YOUR MISSION SHOULD YOU CHOOSE TO ACCEPT IT…

Any night before Laitat al-Qadr on September 5 is a wonderful night to incubate a dream. Take 10 minutes before you go to sleep to write about a topic that you would like to explore through your dreams. Write down your dreams this week!!!
