DIA DE LOS MUERTOS: A DREAM JOURNAL EXERCISE

Dreams often trigger our memories of beloved departed ones. We wake up haunted by a taste, a token, a touch, an encounter or a resemblance of someone we have loved and lost. Our recollection may be encoded in a span of time or merely in a moment. The location might elude us, the story might never end, but there is a “something certain” that hovers nearby in a word, a greeting or a voice. These special dreams can offer a moment of clarity, rapture, peace or love.

YOUR MISSION SHOULD YOU CHOOSE TO ACCEPT IT…

Create an internal homage to the memory of one of your most deeply felt dream images. Trace your sensory feelings and fragmentary thoughts into a loose interior monologue.  Use evocative, haunting sounds and words in a continuous reverie of reliving, honoring or mourning. Experiment with your prose. Allow your thoughts to tumble out unstructured and chaotic.
